31 Attributes of God, Day 22: He Is Powerful

I love seeing how all of God's attributes dovetail and work together!  Today, we're studying His power, but because we've already looked at His awesomeness, might, and omnipotence, it should come as no surprise that He is also powerful.  

There are many, many verses that testify to the power of God.  I'll list just three:

• Psalm 62:11 - "God has spoken once, twice I have heard this: that power belongs to God" (NKJV, emphasis added).

• Jeremiah 10:12 - "He has made the earth by His power, He has established the world by His wisdom, and has stretched out the heavens at His discretion" NKJV, emphasis added).

• 1 Corinthians 6:11 - "And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power" (NKJV, emphasis added).

God created the world...by His power.

God resurrected Jesus Christ...by His power.

God rescued us from sin and death...by His power.

God can do all things...by His power.  

We can place our trust and confidence in our almighty God because He has the ultimate power and authority over everything.  Once again, we serve a good, good Heavenly Father!

Today's Assignment:  List out all the ways you've witnessed God's power in your life.  Even if you feel like your list is small right now, go ahead and jot them down.  Then, pray and ask the Lord to open your eyes to even more ways He's proven His power.  Keep working on your list.  Before you know it, it will become quite long!
